2010: Jones posted the best ERA on the staff for Portland posting an ERA of 2.56… He compiled a record of 4-2 and pitched 56 and a third innings… He made 16 appearances with eight starts. He struck out 42 on the year.
2009: Utilized medical redshirt season.
2008: Had 17 appearances out of the bullpen and made two starts … went 2-1 with an ERA of 6.30 … worked 40.0 innings on the mound and held right-handed hitters to a .230 batting average … during first collegiate appearance, held BYU to one run on two hits while striking out two and walking none in 4.2 innings on Feb. 23 … didn’t allow a base runner and struck out one in 1.2 innings at Washington on March22 … in 4.0 scoreless innings of a 7-0 win over Lewis & Clark (Apr. 16), he struck out five and allowed just two hits to pick up first collegiate win ... won his second game after working 2.2 scoreless innings of a 9-4 victory at Cal State Northridge (May 13) … also played outfield and had eight hits in 36 at-bats for an average of .222 … recorded one double, knocked in three runs and scored four … went 2-for-4 against both LMU (Mar. 30) and San Francisco (Apr. 27).
EDMONDS-WOODWAY HS: Earned four letters for coach Joe Webster and coach Matt Barker … All-Wesco as a senior and helped lead the Warriors to a top-eight finish at the Washington State Tournament … as a junior in 2006, he was named to the All-Wesco First Team as an infielder and to the second team as a pitcher … was also voted the team’s best pitcher and hitter in 2006 and was awarded a gold glove his freshman season … posted a 7-0 record with an earned run average of 1.30 on the hill as a junior and pitched a one-hit, complete game shutout with 14 strikeouts against Meadowdale HS … a member of the 2006 Seattle Mariners Cup team and Fall Scout team, Jones has played club ball for the Seattle Stars for four seasons … the Stars won the 15-year-old Continental Amateur Baseball Association National Championship in 2004, took home the 2004 and 2006 Washington State Championship and finished second at the Connie Mack Regionals in 2005 … was named to the all-tournament team after pitching a two-hit, complete game shutout during the 2006 Pacific Northwest Championships. |
