Schroeder is a native of Sparta, WI. He is a 2003 graduate of BangorHigh School (Bangor, WI) and 2007 graduate of LutherCollege, (Decorah, IA). He was a two-time All-Conference and two-time All-Region performer as well as the Iowa Conference MVP (2007). Schroeder was named team captain (2006, 2007) twice in his college career. He was a member of the 2007 Iowa Conference Championship team where Luther also made an appearance in the NCAA tournament with a #1 seed in the Central Region, finishing the season ranked 16^th in the country with a school record 31 wins. During his career at Luther, Schroeder set multiple career records: rbi (172), doubles (43), hits (200), home runs (30) and slugging percentage (.652). In 2007 he was a bullpen catcher for the Gary Southshore Railcats (Gary, IN); an independent baseball team that closed their 2007 season winning the Northern League Championship. Schroeder began his coaching career after returning to Luther as an assistant in 2008. Currently he is in his 3^rd year as an assistant at LutherCollege as they are coming off another Conference Championship in 2008.
